I am honoured and feel very privileged to serve as the President of Korean Society of Victoria Australia (KSV). I thank and show my appreciation to all KSV predecessors who committed so much time and effort to support our growing Korean community in Victoria for the past 45 years.
During my career, I have been working as an Accountant and Migration Agent to help and advise clients on accounting and migration matters.
Further, I have been involved in many organisations and held offices in the Korean Women’s International Network, International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry, National Unification Advisory Council, Melbourne Korean War Memorial Committee, World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Association and more.
But I have never been so much excited with this position of the Presidency of the KSV!
As someone who was born overseas and has lived in Australia for many years, I strongly believe in ‘a fair go’, much admired Australian value and appreciate how important it is for people from different countries with different cultures and values to live and work together in harmony. In my opinion, this is what Multiculturalism is all about!!
South Korea is very well-known for wired cultures (smartphones, fast internet, pcs, Kakao Talk, scan QR codes at the world’s first virtual supermarket), white goods e.g. TV, Fridges, microwave etc. (produced by Samsung, LG and Daewoo etc.), motor vehicles (produced by Hyundai, KIA etc.), working/drinking culture (Jinro Soju is the world best-selling liquor), innovative cosmetics brands (Atomy, FaceShop, Innisfree, SkinFood, SulWhaSoo and many more), famous female golfers, K-Pops, fashion, fabulous and delicious foods (Kimchi, Bibimbap, Japchae etc.) and many more!!
If we are combining qualities from what Korean can offer and what Australian cultures can offer, then the outcomes would be dynamic and interesting. Let’s work together to maximise these opportunities presented to us to strengthen and promote our wonderful State of Victoria!!
I invite you to become a member of our exciting KSV community to enjoy our upcoming events and make new friends and business partnerships, with people who share a passion for the best of Korean and Australian culture.
